"Whoever treads on a path in search of Islamic knowledge, Allah will ease the way to Paradise for him. The angels will lower their wings, pleased with this seeker of knowledge, and everyone in the heavens and on earth will ask forgiveness for the knowledgeable person, even the fish in the deepest of waters will ask for his forgiveness” [Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Tirmidhi # 2835-sahih hadith]

The weirdest things always happen to me I am convinced! Just having to pick up a couple of things today & I caught up with a friend alhamdulilah, we were walking and out of no where we pass by a homeless guy who was holding a beer can and yelling at me saying "SAY BISMILLAH, SAY BISMILLAH" I was terrified and right when we're walking away he yells "HATHA HALAL, HATHA HALAL"...homeless man knew straight Arabic and was saying "This is halal, this is halal" authobillah; clearly he was intoxicated but wow alcohol is by far if not the worst thing man has ever created!!! It strips individuals of respect and modesty in a second..ajeeb! Satan always manages to take control of some weak hearts. May Allah protect us all from the tricks of Satan and the evilness within us! Ameen. I believe people who are Muslim and fall into this drug lifestyle lack alot of knowledge and that's what made them very vulnerable to begin with sigh...

It is not sufficient to wipe the head and run the fingers through the hair when doing ghusl from janaabah
In question no. 2648 it described the way of
washing the hair when doing ghusl [full ablution] from janaabah
[impurity following sexual activity], but is it permissible to run the
fingers through the hair and just to wipe the head, because I find it
difficult to wash my hair every time because I use a hairdryer to make
my hair look nice for my husband.
Praise be to Allaah.
When
doing ghusl from janaabah you have to wash the entire body, including
the hair. Ghusl means letting water run over every part of the body.
Al-Sharh al-Mumti’, 1/128.
It
is essential to pour water on the hair and make it reach what is
beneath the hair. Simply wiping over the head is not sufficient because
it is not regarded as ghusl (washing); what is required is washing not
wiping.
It
was narrated that Aa’ishah said: When the Messenger of Allaah (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did ghusl from janaabah, he would
start by washing his two hands, then he would pour water into his left
hand with his right hand and wash his private part, then do wudoo’ as
for prayer, then he would take the water and, using his fingers, make
it reach the roots of his hair, until he was certain that the water had
reached the roots of his hair, then he would pour three scoops of water
over his head, then he would pour water over the rest of his body, then
he would wash his feet.”
Narrated by Muslim, 474.
Shaykh
Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said in his commentary on this hadeeth: It is essential
when doing ghusl from janaabah to make sure the water reaches what is
under the hair, even if the hair is thick.
This
is understood from the fact that he (peace and blessings of Allaah be
upon him) put his fingers in his hair and poured water over it three
times after he made sure that the water was reaching the roots of his
hair.
Sharh Buloogh al-Maraam,
p. 399
Shaykh
‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Women who
find it difficult to wash their heads when doing ghusl from janaabah
should be told that it is sufficient to pour water over their heads
three times so that the water reaches every part of their heads, with
no need to undo their braids or change anything of their hairstyle
which they find it hard to change. They should also be reminded of the
great reward they will have with Allaah, the good consequences and the
everlasting good life that they will have in the abode of honour if
they are patient in adhering to the rulings of sharee’ah.

"The ability to readily forgive
should be driven by an awareness of our own flaws and mistakes towards
others. But most of all, our humility should be driven by the fact that
we wrong Allah every single day of our lives, when we sin. Who are we
compared to Allah? And yet, Allah, Master of the universe, forgives by
day and by night. Who are we to withhold forgiveness? If we hope to be
forgiven by Allah, how can we not forgive others? It is for this reason
that the Prophet ﷺ teaches us: “Those who show no mercy to others will
have no mercy shown to them by Allah.” [Muslim]"

Shaykh Salih Al-Fawzan on Wearing Clothes that have the Names of Kuffar on them
In one of his lessons on Tathir Al-I'tiqad, Shaykh Salih b. Fawzan Al-Fawzan - Allah protect him, was asked the following question:
[What about] a person who wears what the unbelievers wear, and on the back [of the clothing] is written the name of a Kafir player (sportsman) when the wearer does not intend to copy this player or the unbelievers?
The Shaykh replied:
This is to be considered respect and esteem for the Kafir. As long as he is wearing clothes upon which is written the name of the Kafir, or a picture of him, this is respect and esteem for the Kafir. It is not allowed to do this; the least that can be said about it is that it is haram (forbidden in Islam). If [the wearer really does] respect and esteem [the Kafir], he is in danger of apostasy (leaving the fold of Islam). Yes.

All this hype about the Royal Wedding is becoming annoying, like yeah ma'sha'Allah there getting married and there famous - yes wonderful...BUT does it need to be on every channel I switch on? SubhanAllah I'm not bitter but the media is just showering in all the info they can get about the Royal couple. They are not the first couple in the WORLD to proclaim their love for eachother infront of a camera, so why make it a big deal? People are dieing..hello Libya is still fighting! Anyone there? caring, listening, helping maybe? Well surely the media doesn't and it's disgusting how they drop all of the worlds misery just to go after what Kate is going to be wearing on her wedding day. Authobillah like even America is having the worst tornado season ever and people don't think all of these signs are from Allah (aza wa jal) ? But no there just after this Royal Wedding that does nothing to better the world. SubhanAllah I'll never understand but I do get that human life means nothing to some people....=S

Marriage of Adam’s sons to his daughters at the beginning of creation
I read question 255, about Intermarrying among
Adam and Eves children and I did not see any proofs from the Quran nor
in the hadith. Can you show us some clear proofs(some evidences) from
the Quran and from the hadith.Because Islam is not base on opinions but
with proofs and evidences.May Allah reward you with your hard work and
may Allah forgive your sins and all our sins and guide us and you and
make us among those who enter His Jannah Fardus.Ameen peace be upon
those follow the guidance.
Praise be to Allaah.
Allah, may He be exalted, created Adam the father of
mankind (peace be upon him) and he created from him his wife Hawwa’, then
mankind spread from them as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female,
and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily,
the most honourable of you with Allaah is that (believer) who has At‑Taqwa
[i.e. he is one of the Muttaqoon (the pious)]”
[al-Hujuraat 49:13]
“O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from
a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa
(Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women”
[al-Nisa’ 4:1].
More than one of the scholars have stated that Allah, may He
be exalted, ordained that Adam (peace be upon him) should marry his
daughters to his sons, so he would marry the female from one pregnancy to
the male from another pregnancy. Allah, may He be exalted, says concerning
the two sons of Adam (peace be upon him) (interpretation of the meaning):
“And (O Muhammad صلى الله
عليه وسلم) recite to them (the Jews) the story of the two sons of
Adam (Haabeel and Qaabeel - Abel and Cain) in truth; when each offered a
sacrifice (to Allaah), it was accepted from the one but not from the other.
The latter said to the former: ‘I will surely, kill you.’ The former said:
‘Verily, Allaah accepts only from those who are Al-Muttaqoon (the pious)’”
[al-Maa’idah 5:27].
Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
It was narrated concerning them, as quoted by more than one
of the earlier and later scholars, that Allah prescribed that Adam (peace be
upon him) should marry his daughters to his sons as a matter of necessity.
But they said: A male and female were born from each pregnancy, so he would
marry the female from one pregnancy to the male from another. The sister of
Habeel was ugly and the sister of Qabeel was beautiful. Qabeel wanted to
keep her for himself and not give her to his brother, but Adam insisted that
they should offer sacrifices and whichever brother’s sacrifice was accepted
by Allah would win her hand. So they offered sacrifices and it was accepted
from Habeel but it was not accepted from Qabeel. And their story was told by
Allah in His Book. End quote.
Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 3/82
Ibn Abi Haatim narrated: It was forbidden for a woman to
marry her twin brother, and he was commanded to give her in marriage to a
brother from another pregnancy. And from each pregnancy one boy and one girl
were born. Whilst they were like that, a beautiful girl was born to him, and
another was born who was ugly. The twin brother of the ugly one said to his
brother: Give me your twin sister in marriage and I will give you my twon
sister in marriage. He said: I have more right to my twin sister. So they
offered sacrifices, and the sacrifice of the one who offered a ram was
accepted but the sacrifice of the one who offered crops was not accepted, so
he killed him. Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Its isnaad is
jayyid.
Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 3/83
See also: Tafseer Ibn Jeeri, 10/206; Tafseer
al-Baghawi, 3/41; Tafseer al-Tha‘labi, p. 732; al-Jaami‘ li
Ahkaam al-Qur’aan, 6/134; Zaad al-Maseer, 2/332; al-Bidaayah
wa’l-Nihaayah, 1/103
As this is proven from the Sahaabah (may Allah be pleased
with them) or some of them, especially from Ibn ‘Abbaas who was the most
knowledgeable of people in the interpretation of the Qur’aan, and the
scholars narrated what he mentioned, this is not regarded as speculation
that it is not permissible to accept.
Rather, in the words quoted above, Ibn Katheer indicated that
this is a definitive matter, as he said: Allah prescribed that Adam (peace
be upon him) should marry his daughters to his sons as a matter of
necessity. End quote.
The words “as a matter of necessity” indicate that it is not
possible that things could have happened differently, otherwise how could
all of mankind have come about? How could they have reproduced? There is no
way that could have happened except by the sons of Adam marrying his
daughters.
And Allah knows best.

To Allaah We Belong and to Him We Shall Return !
Al-Fudhayl ibn ‘Iyyaadh (rahimahullaah) said to a man: “How many (years) have come upon you?”
He replied: “Sixty years.”
He said: “Therefore, for sixty years you have been going to your Lord and you are about to reach (Him).”
So the man said: “To Allaah we belong and to Him we shall return!”
So Al-Fudhayl asked:
“Do you know the meaning of that
(statement)? You are saying, I belong to Allaah as a servant and I am
going to return to Him. So whoever knows that he belongs to Allaah as a servant and that he will return to him, then he should know that he will be stopped. And whoever knows that he will be stopped, then he should know that he will be questioned. And whoever knows that he will be questioned, then let him prepare an answer for the question.”

of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock. The

Just been watching some beautiful youtube videos of little children with amazing voices, this is surely one of the greatest blessings to be able to memorize so much & being of a very young age! Ma'sha'Allah I love it & I really want to strive to make my children like that aswell because it would be a great protection that they know the words of Allah and understand the meaning of what their saying aswell is very important. I just want to ask their parents what they did in teaching them like is there a technique I need to acquire to enable my child to be successful in memorizing the Quran. I really have alot of questions about these things like whats an age to make them start learning the Quran is it 1, 2 or 3 years old ? I understand I must instill the fundamentals of Islam to them sucha as who is Allah? & who is our prophets? but when should I start literally teaching them Fatiha and so on...I got alot of researching ahead of me in'sha'Allah because I really for the sake of Allah want my children to be equipped with the book of Allah on their side throughout their lives and so that they never forget it, so I need to instill it in them while their young so that it grows with them. Not them growing up and having to memorize it (not that theres anything wrong with that) but just because it'll become a little more challenging as I myself am going through that as I try to memorize right now. I just want better for them in'sha'Allah. May Allah make our children Hafideen (people who have memorized the Quran) of his book & firm believers in this religion! Ameeen<3

She prayed whilst menstruating because of shyness
She prayed whilst menstruating because of shyness. What is the ruling on that and what expiation should she offer?.
Praise be to Allaah.
Al-Nawawi
said: The ummah is unanimously agreed that it is haraam for a
menstruating woman to pray, whether that is obligatory (fard) prayers
or supererogatory (naafil).” Al-Majmoo’, 2/351.
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen was asked about that
and replied:
It
is not permissible for a woman who is menstruating or bleeding
following childbirth (nifaas) to pray, because the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) said concerning women: “Is it not the
case that if a woman menstruates she does not pray or fast?” The
Muslims are unanimously agreed that it is not permissible for a
menstruating women to fast, or for her to pray. Based on this, if a
woman does that she has to repent to Allaah and to seek His forgiveness
for what she did.

The Honorable Person
Imaam Abu Hatim said:
“The honorable person becomes soft if he is begged, while the evil one becomes harsher
if he is treated with leniency. Moreover, the generous (or honorable)
person honors honorable people and neither insults the wicked nor harms
the wise nor jokes with fools nor associates with sinners. The
honorable person prefers his brethren to himself and gives them from what he owns; if a brother of his had a wish, he strives hard to fulfill it; if he found affection from a friend, he does not give thought to enmity; and to he who offers sincere friendship and brotherhood, he does not decline any request from him.”

The 4 primary enemies for a Muslim are:
May Allah protect us from these four and accept our repentace. Amin.
- Nafs (Self desires),
- Dunyawiyyah (Worldly desires),
- Shaitan (Devil)
- Ghurur (Ego).

He wants to get married but his sperm count is low; does he have to disclose that?
There is a young man who has not got married
yet, but he found out that he has varicose veins on his testes. He did
a test of his sperm and the result was bad; his sperm count was two
million per millilitre and the motility was very very weak. Then he had
surgery on the varicose veins, and after three months he did another
test on his sperm and found that the result was much improved, but he
still needed treatment because the improvement may only last three to
twelve months.
Now the number of sperm per millilitre is fourteen million, and the motility increased to approximately 10%.
Based on the explanation given by the doctors, it is essential to have a count of twenty million at least and motility of 50% at least, but the doctor who is treating him is optimistic about the final outcome, although the treatment will continue for another three months.
Now he wants to propose marriage. Should he tell the wife or not? Please note that the hope of improvement is there, in sha Allah.

Praise be to Allaah.
Having a low sperm count
and low sperm motility of the level mentioned is regarded as a fault which
must be disclosed, and it is not permissible to conceal it, because of
what it may lead to of not having children. Having children is one of the
most important aims of marriage, so the wife has the right to have
children just as the husband has the same right.
If a man gets married and
is aware of this weakness, and cannot have children, that is more likely to
put the wife off him and make her regard him as having deceived her.
Hence Ameer al-Mu’mineen
‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the one who
married a woman but could not have children: “Tell her that you are sterile
and give her the choice.” Quoted in Zaad al-Ma‘aad, 5/183
It says in Masaa’il
al-Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, narrated by Abu Ya‘qoob al-Kawsaj (no. 1282):
I said: What about the man who marries a woman when he is sterile and cannot
have children?
Ahmad said: I prefer the
one who knows that about himself to disclose it; perhaps his wife wants to
have children.
Ishaaq said the same as he
said, because he cannot deceive her. End quote. Narrated by Ibn Qudaamah in
al-Mughni (6/653).
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn
Taymiyah and Ibn al-Qayyim favoured the view that sterility is regarded as a
fault that constitutes grounds for annulment of the marriage, unlike the
majority of scholars.
See: al-Mawsoo‘ah
al-Fiqhiyyah, 30/268
Based on that, this young
man has to tell his fiancée, then if she accepts, that is up to her.
If he hopes that the
situation will improve and the problem will be resolved within a short time
as mentioned, then he may delay proposing marriage until that time.
We ask Allah to guide and
help us and you.
And Allah knows best.
Islam Q&A
Knowledge is a comforting friend in times of loneliness, it is the best companion during travels, and it is the inner friend who speaks to you in your privacy. Knowledge is the discerning proof of what is right and what is wrong, and it is the positive force that will help you surmount the trials of comfort, as well as those of hardships. Knowledge is your most powerful sword against your enemy, and finally, it is your most dignifying raiment in the company of your close companions. Through knowledge, Allah, blessed be His Name, raises some people in rank, and He makes them leaders in righteousness and models in morality. The vestige of their faith is avidly sought, their deeds are emulated perceptively, and people will seek and sanction their opinions solicitously and unequivocally. The heavenly angels seek their company and anoint them with their wings, every fresh or withered life they pass by implore Almighty Allah to forgive them their sins, even the fish in the oceans, the beasts of the lands and every bird of prey and migratory bird pray and solicit the mercy of Almighty Allah on their behalf. This is because knowledge revives the dead hearts and drives them out of darkness into light, and because knowledge is the light of the inner eyes that cures one’s blindness and restores his inner sight

Very happy day for me alhamdulilahh :) No more school & yet I'm contimplating going to summer school -_-" i really do not want to think about it lol sigh this school year has been a very interesting one & alot of things happened. I feel like I've accomplished alot finishing up my first year and I look forward to finish the next couple of years as well, just seemed hard because it was a first for everything and meeting new people along the way to help or assist really made things interesting this year ma'sha'Allah. I realize the school year sure does go by fast subhanAllah I always think it is zooming by; yet when I'm in a lecture I feel like it's taking forever lol ajeeb...but nevertheless very rewarding sighh I really do want to finish up my education just so I can take Islamic studies full time afterwards and devote it to my life as I wish..but I gotta go through the hard parts of my journey in order to enjoy the rest and please my family in'sha'Allah<3 Everyone is trying to find themselves when their in school and then there are those who already know what there life's purpose is. Well mine is a mix of the 2 when it comes down to education & islam. In'sha'Allah within the next few years I'll discover and explore different routes Allah willingly in order to accomplish the goals that I have for this Life & The Next. . .TabarakAllah as for now I am thrilled to start my Summer Book list, I have alot of books that I need to read in'sha'Allah & I'm excited to begin 8-)!

I was thinking to myself yesterday and just being very very honest with myself. I was wondering about do people who get married change or do they stay the same ; personality wise..hmmm I think I'd stay the same but become less greedy just because I know I'm not with my parents or family anymore. And when I mean greedy, I really mean like not asking much or wanting a whole lot of stuff just because I've accepted the fact that there are other important things in life that money can buy like hajj, school tuition (already feeling that burden) etc plus living under someone elses income is something you have to be grateful to Allah for just cause you don't have to be the breadwinner tabarakAllah lool =P. Alot of things change tho and everyone knows that but what about personality? Do you become so mature that you become a new person?Well what I'm really trying to say is that if I meet someone and decide that I want to spend the rest of my life with them In'sha'Allah I pray to Allah that they don't change and show me a different face; unless there even more better lool then that's an exception =) It's like signing up for a contract and everything sounds amazing at first, once you get into it your already trying to file a cancellation lol subhanAllahh ajeeb...I don't want that at all authobillah. May Allah bless all the Muslimahs out here with beautiful, trustworthy, pious companions..Allahumma Ameen<3
Tranquility & Peace
Tranquility & Peace By Shaykh ul –Islaam Ibn Qayyim aj-Jawzeeyah as-Salafi -Rahimullaah-
From his book ‘Madarij as-Salikeen’ Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya
Shamsuddeen Muhammad bin Abee Bakr Ibn Qayyim aj-Jawzeeyah (d.751 A.H.) -Rahimullaah- said:
‘Indeed Allaah mentioned ‘as-Sakeenah’ (Tranquility) in His Book in six places:
1) The saying of Allaah Ta’ala:
<< وَقَالَ لَهُمْ نَبِيُّهُمْ إِنَّ آيَةَ مُلْكِهِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَكُمُ التَّابُوتُ فِيهِ سَكِينَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ >>
<< And their prophet said to them, Indeed, a sign of his kingship is that the chest will come to you in which is assurance from your Lord >>[al-Baqarah: 248]
2) The saying of Allaah Ta’ala:
<< ثُمَّ أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ وَعَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ >>
<< Then Allah sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers >>[Tawbah: 26]
3) The saying of Allaah Ta’ala:
<<إِذْ يَقُولُ لِصَاحِبِهِ لَا تَحْزَنْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَنَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَيَّدَهُ بِجُنُودٍ لَمْ تَرَوْهَا >>
<< and he said to his companion, ‘Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with us.’ And Allah sent down his tranquility upon him and supported him with Angels you did not see >>[Tawbah: 40]
4) The saying of Allaah Ta’ala:
<< هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ السَّكِينَةَ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لِيَزْدَادُوا إِيمَانًا مَعَ إِيمَانِهِمْ وَلِلَّهِ جُنُودُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا >>
<< It is He who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers that they would increase in faith along with their [present] faith. And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth, and ever is Allah Knowing and Wise. >>[al-Fath: 4]
5) The saying of Allaah Ta’ala:
<< لَقَدْ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ يُبَايِعُونَكَ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ فَعَلِمَ مَا فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ فَأَنْزَلَ السَّكِينَةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَثَابَهُمْ فَتْحًا قَرِيبًا >>
<< Certainly was Allah pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you, [O Muhammad], under the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquility upon them and rewarded them with an imminent conquest >>[al-Fath: 18]
6) The saying of Allaah Ta’ala:
<< إِذْ جَعَلَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الْحَمِيَّةَ حَمِيَّةَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ وَعَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ >>
<< When those who disbelieved had put into their hearts chauvinism - the chauvinism of the time of ignorance. But Allah sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers >>[al-Fath: 26]
Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah (d.728 A.H.) -Rahimullaah- used to read the Ayaat of as-Sakeenah (Tranquility) if matters became intense for him. And I heard him talk about a great incident which occurred when he was sick, the general intellect is too deficient to comprehend how evil souls emerged and waged war against him in his state of weakness.
Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah (d.728 A.H.) -Rahimullaah- said :
When this matter became intense, I said to my relatives and those around me:
‘Read the Ayaat of as-Sakeenah (Tranquility). Then I would be free from this condition, and I would sit up as if a transformation had taken place and there was nothing wrong with me.’
Ibn Qayyim aj-Jawzeeyah (d.751 A.H.) -Rahimullaah- said:
I also tried this, and I read these Ayaat of as-Sakeenah (Tranquility) when the heart becomes agitated due to what affects it and I witnessed the amazing effects of these Ayaat on the tranquility of the heart and its peacefulness.’
[From: ‘Samma’aat Ibn al-Qayyim min Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah’ p.352-353 Quoted from: ‘Madarij as-Salikeen’ 2/502]

Is there a Reward for Reading Hadeeth?
Is there a Reward for Reading Hadeeth? From Shaykh, Allaama, Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdul Azeez bin Abdullaah Bin Baz Translated by Umm Yahya
The Noble Shaykh Bin Baz -Rahimullaah- was asked:
‘The reward for reciting the Book of Allaah is evident. Is there a reward for reading Hadeeth too?’
The Shaykh replied:
‘There is a great reward for reading the Noble Qur’an in terms of coming closer to Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, as is reading and memorizing the Hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam. And this is because it is worship of Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala (in pursuit of) acquiring knowledge and a greater understanding of the religion.
Evidence in the Shariah indicates that seeking knowledge and gaining an understanding of the religion is obligatory in order for the slave to worship His Lord upon firm knowledge (Baseerah)
An example of this evidence is the saying of the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam:
‘Whoever Allaah wills good for He grants them the understanding of the Deen (religion)’ And he said:‘The best of you are those who learn the Qur’aan and teach it’
And the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam said:
‘Whoever treads a path seeking knowledge on that path, then Allaah makes the path to paradise easy for him due to his seeking knowledge, and no group of people gather in one of the houses of Allah reciting the Book of Allaah and studying it, except tranquillity descends and they are covered with Mercy and the angels surround them and Allaah mentions them to those who are close to Him’
And there are many Hadeeth regarding the virtues of reciting the Qur’aan such as the saying of the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam:
‘Recite the Qur’aan for verily it will come as an intercession for the one who recites it on the Day of Resurrection’
'Collected by Muslim
And one day the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam came out and said:
‘Who would like to go to Bathaan (a valley in Medina) or to al-Aqeeq (a valley in Makkah) and return with two great female camels, without sinning and without severing the ties of kinship?’
So we said: ‘O Messenger of Allaah we would love that’
He -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:
‘If one of you went to the masjid and learnt or read two Ayaat from the Book of Allah Azza wa Jal (that) is better for him than two female camels and three Ayaat are better than four female camels and in addition to that the same amount in male camels’ As is collected by Imam Muslim in ‘Saheeh Muslim’ and this is an evidence concerning the virtue of reciting the Qur’aan and teaching it.
There is (another) famous Hadeeth from Ibn Mas’ood which is collected in ‘Jamia Tirmidhi’ with a Hassan (good) chain of narrators that the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:
‘Whoever reads one letter from the Book of Allaah he gets one reward for it and one reward is equivalent to ten times the reward of it.’
And it is the same for reading the Sunnah, if a believer learns it by reading the Ahadeeth and studying them and memorizing them, distinguishing the authentic from the non authentic, then he will receive a great reward. This is because this is considered acquiring knowledge, concerning which the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:
‘Whoever treads a path seeking knowledge on that path, then Allaah makes the path to paradise easy for him due to his seeking knowledge, and no group of people gather in one of the houses of Allaah reciting the Book of Allaah and studying it, except tranquility descends and they are covered with Mercy and the angels surround them and Allaah mentions them to those who are close to Him’
This is proof of reading the Ayaat and reflecting upon them, studying Hadeeth and memorizing them, desiring knowledge and (desiring) an understanding of the religion and acting upon it (consequently) is from (one of the reasons) for entering paradise and being saved from the hell-fire. As the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:
‘Whoever Allah wills good for He grants them the understanding of the Deen (religion)’
There is a consensus with regard to its authenticity and it clarifies the virtue of knowledge and seeking it, and that is a sign of goodness as we clarified earlier. And the understanding of the Deen is attained through the Book (The Qur’aan) and through the Sunnah (Hadeeth) therefore (attaining the) understanding the Sunnah is a sign that Allah has intended goodness for His slave, there is a lot of evidence to substantiate (this point).

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, 'Beware of suspicion, for it is the worst of
false tales and don't look for the other's faults and don't spy and
don't hate each other, and don't desert (cut your relations with) one
another O Allah's slaves, be brothers!"
Rasul
Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “Whoever eats food obtained
at the expense of a Muslim, Allah will feed him hellfire on Judgement
Day. He who gains a prestigious reputation at the expense of a Muslim,
Allah will reduce him to the position of the show-offs and boasters on
Judgement Day. He who wears a garment acquired at the expense of a Muslim, Allah will dress him in a garment of fire on Judgement Day.”

Befriend Righteous People
Imaam Abu Hatim said:
“The honorable person appreciates
whoever favors him, gives excuse when his friends decline to help him,
keeps ties with those who sever them, draws closer to whoever keeps
relation with him, grants and favors those who seek his help, and feels
pity and kindness for whoever he thinks is weak. As for those who
mistakenly perceive him as being weak, death would be dearer to them than the consequences of their error(1). As for the wicked, his are the opposite of these qualities.”
Rawdhaat ul-’Uqalaa’, p174

(1) It means honorable persons are not weak and able to defend themselves sufficiently. Those who seek weakness in the forbearing and calmness of honorable persons will thus regret it if they seek to exploit this perceived weakness, for the response will be fierce and swift.

Smoke
Moreover, He Comprehended in His design the sky, and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: "Come ye together willingly or unwillingly." They said: "We do come (together), in willing obedience."
"Any People Who Believe..."
You will never find any people who believe in Allah and the last Day on friendly terms with those who oppose Allah and His Rasool, even though they be their fathers, their sons, their brothers or their relatives. It is they in whose hearts Allah has inscribed faith and has strengthened them with a spirit of His own. He will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, to live therein forever. Allah will be well pleased with them, and they will be well pleased with Him. They are the party of Allah. Beware! Surely it is the party of Allah that will be successful.
[Surah Mujadilah:22]
Malcolm X’s Letter from Mecca
Many Muslims who have been blessed to make Hajj often speak of how the journey is a life-changing experience. This is more the case for some than others.
After leaving the Nation of Islam in March 1964, he made Hajj, which helped change his perspective on whites and racism completely.
Here is an excerpt of a letter El Hajj Malik El Shabazz wrote a letter to his loyal assistants in Harlem... from his heart, telling them of his experience. In it, he explains what it was during this blessed journey that made him so profoundly shift his perspective on race and racism. We should keep in mind that this letter was written in a time when the history of African Americans in America was in making, a time when centuries worth of oppression was being spoken about and condemned in public.[1]
“Never have I witnessed such sincere hospitality and overwhelming spirit of true brotherhood as is practiced by people of all colors and races here in this ancient Holy Land, the home of Abraham, Muhammad and all the other Prophets of the Holy Scriptures. For the past week, I have been utterly speechless and spellbound by the graciousness I see displayed all around me by people of all colors.
“I have been blessed to visit the Holy City of Mecca, I have made my seven circuits around the Ka’ba, led by a young Mutawaf named Muhammad, I drank water from the well of the Zam Zam. I ran seven times back and forth between the hills of Mt. Al-Safa and Al Marwah. I have prayed in the ancient city of Mina, and I have prayed on Mt. Arafat.
“There were tens of thousands of pilgrims, from all over the world. They were of all colors, from blue-eyed blondes to black-skinned Africans. But we were all participating in the same ritual, displaying a spirit of unity and brotherhood that my experiences in America had led me to believe never could exist between the white and non-white.
“America needs to understand Islam, because this is the one religion that erases from its society the race problem. Throughout my travels in the Muslim world, I have met, talked to, and even eaten with people who in America would have been considered white - but the white attitude was removed from their minds by the religion of Islam. I have never before seen sincere and true brotherhood practiced by all colors together, irrespective of their color.
“You may be shocked by these words coming from me. But on this pilgrimage, what I have seen, and experienced, has forced me to rearrange much of my thought-patterns previously held, and to toss aside some of my previous conclusions. This was not too difficult for me. Despite my firm convictions, I have always been a man who tries to face facts, and to accept the reality of life as new experience and new knowledge unfolds it. I have always kept an open mind, which is necessary to the flexibility that must go hand in hand with every form of intelligent search for truth.
“During the past eleven days here in the Muslim world, I have eaten from the same plate, drunk from the same glass, and slept on the same rug - while praying to the same God - with fellow Muslims, whose eyes were the bluest of blue, whose hair was the blondest of blond, and whose skin was the whitest of white. And in the words and in the deeds of the white Muslims, I felt the same sincerity that I felt among the black African Muslims of Nigeria, Sudan and Ghana.
“We were truly all the same (brothers) - because their belief in one God had removed the white from their minds, the white from their behavior, and the white from their attitude.
“I could see from this, that perhaps if white Americans could accept the Oneness of God, then perhaps, too, they could accept in reality the Oneness of Man - and cease to measure, and hinder, and harm others in terms of their ‘differences’ in color.
“With racism plaguing America like an incurable cancer, the so-called ‘Christian’ white American heart should be more receptive to a proven solution to such a destructive problem. Perhaps it could be in time to save America from imminent disaster - the same destruction brought upon Germany by racism that eventually destroyed the Germans themselves.
“Each hour here in the Holy Land enables me to have greater spiritual insights into what is happening in America between black and white. The American Negro never can be blamed for his racial animosities - he is only reacting to four hundred years of the conscious racism of the American whites. But as racism leads America up the suicide path, I do believe, from the experiences that I have had with them, that the whites of the younger generation, in the colleges and universities, will see the handwriting on the walls and many of them will turn to the spiritual path of truth - the only way left to America to ward off the disaster that racism inevitably must lead to.
“Never have I been so highly honored. Never have I been made to feel more humble and unworthy. Who would believe the blessings that have been heaped upon an American Negro? A few nights ago, a man who would be called in America a white man, a United Nations diplomat, an ambassador, a companion of kings, gave me his hotel suite, his bed. Never would I have even thought of dreaming that I would ever be a recipient of such honors - honors that in America would be bestowed upon a King - not a Negro.
“All praise is due to God, the Lord of all the Worlds.”
Malcolm X saw and experienced many positive things. Generosity and openheartedness were qualities which were impressed on him by the welcome which he received in many places. He saw brotherhood and the brotherhood of different races and this led him to disclaim racism and to say:
“I am not a racist... In the past I permitted myself to be used... to make sweeping indictments of all white people, the entire white race, and these generalizations have caused injuries to some whites who perhaps did not deserve to be hurt. Because of the spiritual enlightenment which I was blessed to receive as the result of my recent pilgrimage to the Holy City of Mecca, I no longer subscribe to sweeping indictments of any one race. I am now striving to live the life of a true Sunni Muslim. I must repeat that I am not a racist nor do I subscribe to the tenets of racism. I can state in all sincerity that I wish nothing but freedom, justice and equality, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all people.”
