Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Undoubtedly Allah has removed from you the pride and arrogance of the days of ignorance and the glorification of ancestors (by bringing you to Islam). Now people are of two kinds - either believers who are aware (God conscious), or transgressors who intentionally do wrong. You are all the children of Adam, and Adam was made of clay. People should give up their pride in nations (ancestry) because that is a coal from the coals of the Hell Fire. If they do not give this up Allah (swt) will consider them lower than the lowly worm which pushes itself through dung.' (Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud Book #41, Hadith #5097).
