Q: O Noble Sheikh, when the mu’athin makes the call for salaatul Subh saying
“As-Salaatu Khayran Minal Nawm” (Prayer is better than sleep). What should those who
are listening say at this particular time?

A: All praise be to Allah, may the prayers and peace  be upon the messenger of
Allah and his family and companions.
To proceed :
It is preferred that everyone who hears the call to prayer, to repeat what the mu’athin
says. He will get the same reward. As for the saying “As-Salaatu Khayran Minal Nawm”
Then its upon those who hear it to repeat what the mu’athin says, “As-Salaatu Khayran
Minal Nawm” and Allah knows best.
