Permissible to Donate Kidney To My Muslim Brother

 

Questioner:

May Allah grant you good. The questioner says: Is it permissible for me to donate one of my kidneys to my Muslim brother who is suffering from kidney failure? 

Shaykh Fawzan:

The decision was made by the senior committee of scholars that it is permissible if two conditions are met.

The first condition is that it does not harm the donor, and there is no danger for the donor and it will not affect his health.

The second condition is for the person receiving the kidney to have a vital need for it, such that he is compelled to take it. Two conditions; if these two conditions are met it is permissible to donate his kidney.
