"Whoever treads on a path in search of Islamic knowledge, Allah will ease the way to Paradise for him. The angels will lower their wings, pleased with this seeker of knowledge, and everyone in the heavens and on earth will ask forgiveness for the knowledgeable person, even the fish in the deepest of waters will ask for his forgiveness” [Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Tirmidhi # 2835-sahih hadith]

Healthy Living !
Insha'Allah I am going to lose weight & become healthier & save money !
I've realized the amount of money I spend on food, plus the lack of exercise that I realized every time I walk up a set of stairs is really taking a toll on me ! Gotta change my ways, May Allah grant me tawfeeq ! ameen - I need to start packing lunch for real once 2nd semester hits, probably leave my debit card @ home & bring a water bottle with me everywhere =D
As Muslims we must understand Allah has a right upon us & so do our bodies, we can't neglect it because later down the road we have no one to blame but ourselves for the state we've put our bodies in subhanAllah. Lets All Change Our Ways !
Sahaabah did not ever differ in the ‘aqeedah, the fundamentals, rather their differing was in the subsidiary affairs (furoo’) of the Religion
Q: Is it permissible to say that the Companions differed on matters of `Aqidah (creed) such as the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) seeing his Lord on the night of the Mi`raj (Ascension to Heaven) and the dead person hearing the living persons? Do such matters constitute part of the `Aqidah?
A: There was no difference or disagreement among the Companions or those following them from among Ahl-ul-Sunnah wal-Jama`ah (those adhering to the Sunnah and the Muslim main body) with regard to the Islamic `Aqidah. This is because they all believed in what is mentioned in the Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah. Moreover, they never introduced new practices into the religion. This was the reason for their unity and agreement on the same beliefs and the same method, acting upon Allah’s Saying,”And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of All’ah (i.e. this Qur’an), and be not divided among yourselves.”(Surah al-Imran 3:103)
One of these beliefs is the belief that the believers will see their Lord on the Day of Resurrection, as all agree on this belief as is proven by the reported proof from the Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah. They never differed on such belief.
As for the difference and disagreement on the question whether the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw his Lord on the night of the Mi`raj with his physical eyes or not, there is a disagreement on a particular event in this life, not a disagreement on seeing Allah (may He be Exalted) on the Day of Resurrection. The majority of scholars are of the opinion that the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw his Lord with his insight, not with his eyes. This is because when the Prophet (peace be upon him) was asked about this point, he said, “Light, how could I see Him.” Thus, the Prophet (peace be upon him) negated seeing his Lord in this situation out of the light which prevented him from seeing his Lord. Also, scholars unanimously agree that no one can see his Lord in the life of this world, as mentioned in the Prophetic Hadith, where the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “No one of you shall see his Lord until he dies.” (Related by Muslim). It is worth mentioning that our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is excluded from this rule, as he saw his Lord, but not in this way.
May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and Companions!

As for the Sahaabah, then the Scholars, both past and present such as Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Baaz and Al-Fawzaan, have mentioned the following important points:
1. …………
2. That though the Sahaabah differed, which may have led to fighting, this differing was never in the usool or the fundamentals of the Religion, such as the belief in the Attributes of Allaah, the belief in Qadr and the rest of the affairs of usool such as Imaamah (rulership) and rebellion. This has been stated by Ibn Taymiyyah and others (see Minhaajus-Sunnah of Ibn Taymiyyah). And the books of ‘aqeedah repeat over and over this important fact. Shaikh Al-Fawzaan mentions in his explanation of Al-Barbahaaree’s ‘Sharhus-Sunnah’ that the Sahaabah did not ever differ in the ‘aqeedah, the fundamentals, rather their differing was in the subsidiary affairs (furoo’) of the Religion.

Who will have a worse punishment (in the Hereafter): The sinners or the innovators?
Answer
The innovators will have a worse punishment, since innovations are worse than sins. Innovations are more beloved to the Devil than sins because (it is likely that) the sinner may repent -
Sufyaan Ath-Thawree, may Allaah have mercy on him, said: “Innovation is more beloved to Iblees (the Devil) than sins. This is because sins are repented from whereas innovations are not repented from.” (Majmoo’-ul-Fataawaa (11/472)) The Prophet said: “Verily Allaah has prevented repentance from every person of innovation.” (Silsilat-ul-Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah (1620)) |
- but as for the innovator, then very rarely does he repent because he thinks that he is upon the truth.
This is contrary to the sinner for he knows that he is disobeying Allaah and that he is committing a sinful deed. As for the innovator, he considers himself to be obeying Allaah and to be upon obedience. This is why innovation – and Allaah’s refuge is sought – is worse than sin. And this is why the Salaf warned the people from sitting and gathering with the innovators –Al-Hasan Al-Basree, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: “Do not sit with a person of innovation, for indeed he will put a disease in your heart.” (Al-I’tisaam of Ash-Shaatibee (1/72) verified by Saleem Al-Hilaalee and Al-Bid’a wan-Nahee ‘anhaa of Ibn Waddaah (pg. 54)) Ash-Shaatibee (158) said:“Indeed the saved sect – and they are Ahl-us-Sunnah – are commanded to disassociate themselves from the people of innovations, to expel them, and to punish severely anyone that follows in their direction, whether by killing them or less than that. And the scholars have warned us against accompanying and gathering with them.” I (the compiler) say : may Allaah have mercy on the Salaf (predecessors). They did not leave behind any person of innovation except that they subdued him and warned against him. |
- for they would influence those whom they sat with, and their danger is great. There is no doubt that innovation is worse than sin and that the danger of the innovator is worse to the people than the danger of the sinner. -
Concerning the danger of the people of innovation, Shaykh-ul-Islaam Ibn Taimiyyah, may Allaah have mercy on him, said: “If it were not for those whom Allaah placed to repel the danger of them [meaning the innovators], the Religion would have been corrupted. Their corruption is worse than the corruption caused by the conquering of the enemies at times of war. For indeed, when they conquer, they do not corrupt hearts or the Religion found in them, except for a while. But as for these people [i.e. the innovators], then they corrupt the hearts from the very beginning.” (Majmoo’-ul-Fataawaa: (28/232) He (Ibn Taimiyyah) also said (20/103): “The people of innovation are worse than the people of lustful sins, according to the Sunnah and the Ijmaa’ (consensus).” |
- This is why the Salaf would say:
“Being moderate while upon the Sunnah is better than exerting oneself while upon Innovation.”

Ruling on putting money on the MasterCard and then buying goods with it
Firstly: there is no Islamic bank here (I live in Germany)
Secondly: the company that issues the credit card does not provide current accounts to cover the card or even any other bank accounts to cover it, but it is possible to put money on the card by transferring money to the bank company account. I only use the card for buying things so as to avoid interest. Before buying anything I put money on the card to cover the value of the purchases, and I do not use it for anything else so that there is no room for delaying payment, because any delay will lead to interest being charged. Is it permissible to use it in this way?
Is it permissible for me to tell my friends about this card even if they use covered credit cards, but they are with riba-based banks, and that is because this company does not charge annual fees for the card?.
It is permissible to use credit cards if they are free from things that are haraam according to sharee‘ah. For more information on that please see the answer to question nos. 97846 and 97530.
If you paid the money first, this is what is known as loading or filling the card, then you can buy the goods with the card. There is nothing wrong with that.
It is important to pay attention to 2 points:
1. It is not permissible to sign a contract with the credit card company if it includes the condition that a penalty be paid in the event of late payment, because this is a condition of riba that is haraam. So it is not permissible to agree to it even if one is determined to pay on time, unless one is forced to deal with it, in which case there is nothing wrong with that, so long as he knows that he is able to pay the amount during the grace period before interest is charged.
See also the answer to question no. 3402.
2. It is permissible for the bank to charge a fee to the seller, but the scholars differed as to whether it is permissible to make the purchaser pay this fee or not. What seems to us to be the case is that there is nothing wrong with that. Concerning this matter please see the answer to question no. 103187.
There is nothing wrong with telling your friends about this card so long as it is free of the matters that are haraam according to sharee‘ah.
And Allah knows best.
Hope is the Guide & Fear is the Driver – The Journey to Allaah
And worship your Lord till the certainty comes to you . [al Hijr :99]
al Hasan said,
“Persistence, persistence! Surely Allaah has appointed the time of cessation of deeds to be just before death,”
and the he recited the above verse. He also said,
“Your souls are your mounts ,so tend to your mounts, in this way they will convey you to your Lord, Mighty & Magnificent.”
The meaning of tending to one’s mounts is to be easy on them, to keep them fit & healthy, & not to overburden them.
Therefore if one feels his soul is coming to a halt in its travel, he tends to it by inculcating in its the desire to finish the journey,as the situation may demand .
One of the salaf said,
” Hope is the guide & fear is the driver & the soul will stop & it will then need gentle treatment & song to provoke it to into recommencing its journey”.
In this respect the camel leader, who drives on his herd by singing, said,
“its guide gave it glad tidings saying: Tomorrow shall you see bananas & mountains.”
Fear is like a whip & when a person is excessively whips the animal, it could die.As such one must also strike it with “songs” of hope that would encourage it to eagerly revitalize its efforts until it arrives at the destination .
Abu Yazeed said,
” I have persistently guided my soul to Allaah without letting up, it weeping all the way, then i urged it to on until it laughed”
it is said,
“When it complained of the burdens of the journey,
he promised it Of the relief of arrival so it revitalized of its efforts.”

Some Guidelines to Recognize a Person Contradicting the Minhaj of the Salaf
- The person doesn’t place an importance in Islamic knowledge. Therefore, he’s ignorant about the Minhaj.
- He doesn’t accept advice from advisors. Hence, he’s blinded and deceived by the falsehood he does.
- He’s negligent in the importance of correcting Aqeedah and inviting people to sound belief.
- The person is a fanatic towards his leader and takes sides with the people of falsehood and corrupt belief, and with individuals viewing deviant ideologies.
- He follows the Mutashabah. Allah says, So as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation (from the truth) they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking Al-Fitnah (polytheism and trials, etc… [ Al-Imran 7]
- He practices innovated ways in his worship and defends these practices.
- He displays enmity towards the people of the Sunnah; publicly and privately.
- He treads along the path of the Khawarij. Some examples of such actions are:
- He backbites , slanders and speaks ill of the scholars
- He attacks the rulers and turns away from obeying them through revolt.
- He incites the general people to slander and speak ill of the scholars and Muslim rulers.
- He places more importance on politics than on Shar’ia.
May Allah preserve us.
Taken from “ I’anatul Khutabah” by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Zayd Al-Madkhali (may Allah reward him)
Translated by Abu Aaliyah Abdullah ibn Dwight Lamont Battle
Should he respond to non-Muslims when they wish him a Happy New Year?
Praise be to Allaah.
It is not permissible to greet or congratulate the kuffaar on the occasion of Christmas, New Year or any of their other holidays, and it is not permissible to respond to them when they greet us on those occasions, because they are not festivals that are prescribed in our religion, and returning their greeting is an affirmation and approval of them. The Muslim should be proud of his religion and its rulings, and he should be keen to call others and convey to them the religion of Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted.
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked about the ruling on greeting the kuffaar on the occasion of Christmas and how we should respond when they greet us on this occasion. Is it permissible to go to the parties that they hold on this occasion?
Is a person sinning if he does any of the things mentioned without intending to, and he only does it to be nice, or because of or shyness or embarrassment or other reasons? Is it permissible to imitate them in that?
He replied:
Greeting the kuffaar on the occasion of Christmas or any of their other religious holidays is haraam according to scholarly consensus, as was stated by Ibn al-Qayyim in his book Ahkaam Ahl al-Dhimmah, where he says:
"Congratulating the kuffaar on the rituals that belong only to them is haraam by consensus, as is congratulating them on their festivals and fasts by saying ‘A happy festival to you’ or ‘May you enjoy your festival,’ and so on. If the one who says this has been saved from kufr, it is still forbidden. It is like congratulating someone for prostrating to the cross, or even worse than that. It is as great a sin as congratulating someone for drinking wine, or murdering someone, or having illicit sexual relations, and so on. Many of those who have no respect for their religion fall into this error; they do not realize the offensiveness of their actions. Whoever congratulates a person for his disobedience or bid’ah or kufr exposes himself to the wrath and anger of Allaah." End quote.
Congratulating the kuffaar on their religious festivals is haraam to the extent described by Ibn al-Qayyim because it implies that one accepts or approves of their rituals of kufr, even if one would not accept those things for oneself. But the Muslim should not accept the rituals of kufr or congratulate anyone else for them, because Allaah does not accept any of that at all, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
"If you disbelieve, then verily, Allaah is not in need of you, He likes not disbelief for His slaves. And if you are grateful (by being believers), He is pleased therewith for you. .
[al-Zumar 39:7]
". . .
This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islaam as your religion . .
[al-Maa’idah 5:3]
So congratulating them is forbidden, whether they are one’s colleagues at work or otherwise.
If they greet us on the occasion of their festivals, we should not respond, because these are not our festivals, and because they are not festivals which are acceptable to Allaah. These festivals are innovations in their religions, and even those which may have been prescribed formerly have been abrogated by the religion of Islaam, with which Allaah sent Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to the whole of mankind. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"Whoever seeks a religion other than Islaam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers."
[Aal ‘Imraan 3:85]
It is haraam for a Muslim to accept invitations on such occasions, because this is worse than congratulating them as it implies taking part in their celebrations.
Similarly, Muslims are forbidden to imitate the kuffaar by having parties on such occasions, or exchanging gifts, or giving out sweets or food, or taking time off work, etc., because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them." Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyah said in his book Iqtidaa’ al-Siraat al-Mustaqeem Mukhaalifat Ashaab al-Jaheem: "Imitating them in some of their festivals implies that one is pleased with their false beliefs and practices, and gives them the hope that they may have the opportunity to humiliate and mislead the weak

Is ghusl required if intercourse takes place with a barrier?
If there is emission of semen, then ghusl is required because of ejaculation, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Water is for water.” Narrated by Muslim, 343.
But if there is no emission of semen, the scholars differed concerning this matter and there are three opinions:
1 – That ghusl is required of both the man and the woman, regardless of whether the barrier is thick or thin. This is the view of al-Shaafa’i (may Allaah have mercy on him).
Al-Nawawi said:
If he wraps a piece of cloth around his penis and inserts it until the tip disappears, but does not ejaculate, the correct view is that ghusl is required of both of them, because the rulings have to do with penetration, and this has taken place. End quote.
Al-Majmoo’, 2/150
2 – That ghusl is not required at all. This is the view of the Hanbalis, as stated in al-Insaaf (2/92), because the two parts have not met due to the presence of the barrier.
3 – That if the barrier is so thin that heat and pleasure can be felt, then ghusl is required, otherwise it is not. This is the view of the Maalikis as stated in al-Mawsoo’ah, 11/201.
Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said concerning this third opinion: This is the most likely to be correct, but to be on the safe side ghusl should be done. End quote.
Al-Sharh al-Mumti’, 1/234.

I Worshipped Allaah For Fifty Years
Nasr ibn Mahmood al Balkhee said; Ahmad ibn Harb stated:
عبدتُ اللهَ خمسين سنةً، فما وجدت حلاوَةَ العبادة حتى تركتُ ثلاثة أشياء
“I worshiped Allaah for fifty years, I wasn’t able to find the sweetness of worship until I forsook three things:
تركتُ رِضى النّاس حتى قَدَرتُ أن أتكلَّمَ بالحقِّ
1. I forsook seeking the acceptance of people, so I was able to speak the truth.
وتركتُ صحبةَ الفاسقين حتى وجدتُ صحبَةَ الصالحينَ
2. I forsook the companionship of the sinner, so I was able to accompany the righteous.
وتركتُ حلاوة الدنيا حتى وجدتُ حلاوةَ الآخرةِ.
3. I forsook the sweetness of the life of this world, so I was able to find the sweetness of the afterlife.

Ruling on a divorce that was issued before consummation when the wife was menstruating
Firstly:
It is permissible for a man to divorce his wife with whom he has not consummated the marriage when she was menstruating, because she will not be harmed by this divorce as she is not obliged to observe the ‘iddah. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
“O you who believe! When you marry believing women, and then divorce them before you have sexual intercourse with them, no ‘Iddah [divorce prescribed period] have you to count in respect of them”
[al-Ahzaab 33:49].
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
The innovated divorce (talaaq al-bid‘ah) refers to number and time, i.e., it is innovated either because it happens at a time when issuing a divorce is haraam, or because the number is haraam. So the innovation has to do with time, such as if he divorces a woman who is obliged to observe the ‘iddah by counting menstrual cycles when she was menstruating; or during a period of purity in which he had intercourse with her, and she is a woman who menstruates and she does not appear to be pregnant. But if it becomes clear that she is pregnant, it is permissible for him to divorce her, even if he had intercourse with her during that period of purity. The same applies if she is not obliged to observe the ‘iddah, such as a wife with whom he has not consummated the marriage; if he divorces her when she is menstruating, the divorce is valid; or if she does not menstruate, such as a minor or an old lady, there is nothing wrong with him divorcing her.
End quote from al-Sharh al-Mumti‘, 13/13
Secondly:
If a man divorces his wife before consummating the marriage with her, he does not have the right to take her back, because taking her back can only be done during the ‘iddah period, and the woman who is divorced before the marriage is consummated does not have to observe the ‘iddah.
Ibn Qudaamah said in al-Mughni (7/397):
The scholars are unanimously agreed that a woman with whom the marriage has not been consummated becomes irrevocably divorced with one talaaq, and the one who divorced her does not have the right to take her back. That is because taking back can only be done during the ‘iddah, and there is no ‘iddah before consummation of the marriage, because Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“O you who believe! When you marry believing women, and then divorce them before you have sexual intercourse with them, no ‘Iddah [divorce prescribed period] have you to count in respect of them”
[al-Ahzaab 33:49]. End quote.
Based on this, if a man divorced his wife before consummation of the marriage, then he wants to take her back, he has to do a new marriage contract with her, with a new mahr.

The Honeymoon should last forever by Sheikh Uthamin
Sheikh Uthamin, may Allah have mercy upon him, said
Some of the people say that it is possible to take from the statement of the messenger of Allah peace and blessings are upon him,
(So that you can taste his honey and he can taste your honey), that we can take what is called a honeymoon so is this correct?
(Translator Footnote: Originally "honeymoon" simply described the period just after the wedding when things are at their sweetest; it is assumed to wane in a month.
Yes this is correct. But the honey is not just for a month if you remain with the woman; rather the honey will be forever not just for a month.
As for traveling during this month to lands that are not befitting to be traveled to then this is a waste of money.
And then we hear about some of the people who travel to outside countries and they go to swimming pools, night clubs, and theaters, and his wife is uncovered, revealing her head, chest and arms, and so on and so forth; and with Allah refuge is sought.
This only occurs from someone who has changed the favor of Allah into ingratitude; rather the reward for this blessing is for the person to increase in thanking Allah and to live with his family in a good manner.
But what is the ruling on the one who says, instead of this I will go with my wife to ummrah, (for the honeymoon)?
We say this is good, but it is not good. Because it is obvious that the origin of this is taken from the non Muslims; we did not know of this during the time of the previous scholars or during the time of the pious predecessors and none of the people of knowledge spoke about doing this, therefore this has been obtained from the non Muslims; this is one angle.
From another angle, I fear that if a long time passes by and the people are making marriage a legitimate reason for making ummrah then it will be said, it is the Sunnah for everyone who gets married to make ummrah.
Therefore we would have invented for an act of worship, a reason that has not been legislated, and this is a problem. Because if a long time passes the condition of the people will change and they will forget the beginning.
For this reason we say, have the honeymoon in your room, in your home and make the honeymoon forever not one month; and the praises belong to Allah for well being.

Ruling on buying clothing and other items during kaafir festivals in order to benefit from discounts on prices during the Christmas season
There is nothing wrong with buying clothing, furniture and so on during the seasons of kaafir festivals such as Christmas, on condition that one does not buy things that are used to celebrate the festival or to imitate the kuffaar during their festivals.
In the answer to question no. 69558 it was stated that it is permissible for the Muslim to open his business during the days of kaafir festivals, subject to two conditions:
(i) that he does not sell them things that they use for sinful purposes or to celebrate their festival
(ii) that he does not sell to Muslims things that they may use to imitate the kuffaar during these festivals.
Buying items that one needs is much less serious than selling or opening one's business, and the basic principle is that it is permissible to buy things, and the fact that it happens at the time of their festival does not matter.

He said to his wife: If you do this thing you will be divorced
If a man says to his wife, “If you do such and such then you are divorced,” then this is a divorce that is dependent upon the condition, and if she does that then divorce takes place according to the majority of scholars.
Some scholars are of the view that it depends. If the husband intended that divorce should indeed take place if the condition was fulfilled, then divorce counts as such. But if his intention was to stop her doing that thing, and he did not intend divorce, then this comes under the same rulings as an oath (yameen), so he has to offer expiation if it is broken, and it does not count as divorce. This is the view favoured by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) and some of the scholars.
Thus it is clear that if your wife did not do that thing, then nothing has happened, and there is no divorce or expiation. But if she does do it, then the difference of opinion mentioned above comes into play.

It is essential to adhere to the limits set by Allah and beware of using the word of divorce in arguments or at times of anger. Divorce is only prescribed to end the relationship between the spouses, and the husband should not use it except with wisdom and caution to end the relationship.
And Allah knows best.
"Actions are but by intention and every man shall have but that which he intended. Thus he whose migration was for Allah and His messenger, his migration was for Allah and His messenger, and he whose migration was to achieve some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his migration was for that for which he migrated."

She makes cards for festivals and sells them – is that permissible
Yes, the basic principle is that transactions are permitted and allowed, and it is not permissible to describe anything as haraam except with evidence. The ruling on the cards that you make for festivals varies according to the festivals in question. If they are cards with greetings for the festivals of the kuffaar, such as Christmas, or for festivals that are bid’ah (innovation), such as the birthday of the Prophet (al-Mawlid) or al-Isra’ and al-Mi’raaj, or festivals that involve imitating the kuffaar, such as national holidays and birthdays, then it is not permissible for you to make them or sell them, and it is not permissible for anyone to buy them, because that implies approval of those festivals that go against Islam, and because it is cooperating in sin and transgression.
But if they are for Islamic festivals – and there are no Islamic festivals except Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha – then it is permissible for you to make greetings cards for them, and it is permissible for you to sell them, so long as you make sure to use phrases that are prescribed or permissible according to sharee’ah, such as “May Allaah accept from us and from you” and so on.
In the answer to question no. 947 we stated that it is haraam to congratulate the kuffaar on their festivals. In the answer to question no. 782 we stated that it is haraam to sell cards for Christian festivals. In the answer to question no. 50074 we quoted the statement of the Standing Committee for Issuing Fatwas about taking part in the millennium celebrations, in which it was noted that it is not permissible to help the kuffaar in their festivals, and among the ways of helping them that the scholars mentioned are: making clothes, mementoes and cards.”
In the answers to questions no. 49014, 49021 and 36442 you will find that it is permissible to offer greetings on the Islamic festivals.

18. Surah Al-Kahf (The Cave)
30. Verily! As for those who believe and do righteous deeds, certainly! We shall not suffer to be lost the reward of anyone who does his (righteous) deeds in the most perfect manner.
31. These! For them will be 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens); wherein rivers flow underneath them, therein they will be adorned with bracelets of gold, and they will wear green garments of fine and thick silk. They will recline therein on raised thrones. How good is the reward, and what an excellent Murtafaqa (dwelling, resting place, etc.)!

Imaam Ahmed bin Hanbal: If Iblees was ordered to prostrate to Adam and refused thus making him a kafir, then the so called Muslim who refuses to prostrate to Allah (leaves off salah) is more deserving of this title.
Ibn al-Qayyim: Allah drove out our parents [Adam and Eve] and the devil out of Jannah due to one sin, but we foolish people sin all the time.
And I know with certainty that He will no doubt provide for me.
Whatever’s in my due, will not pass me by,
Even if it were to be in the depths of the sea.
Allaah the Exalted will bring it forth by His Grace,
Even if I were to remain silent over it.
So, what can a soul feel sorrow over,
When the Most Merciful has set the provisions of the creation?
- Imam al-Shafi’i
“Get yourself out of this limited world of diseases to the wide world of the hereafter, which has what the eyes have never seen. Nothing is impossible there, and love is not lost. O you who sold yourself for the sake of something that will cause you suffering and pain, and which will also lose its beauty, you sold the most precious item for the cheapest price, as if you neither knew the value of the goods nor the meanness of the price. Wait until you come on the Day of mutual loss and gain and you will discover the injustice of this contract. “There is no God but Allaah” is something that Allaah is buying. Its price is Paradise, and the Messenger is its agent, and you will be pleased to part with a small part of this worldly life to obtain it. The part you lose is a small part of something that as a whole is not worth a mosquito’s wing.”

((I am amazed at the people who take care of themselves by eating food out of fear of dying, yet do not protect themselves from sins out of fear of the Fire)).

Abu Ayub Ansari relates that a man said: Messenger of Allah, tell me that which cause me to be admitted to Paradise and will keep me away from the Fire. He answered: Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, observe Prayer, pay the Zakat and join the ties of kinship.
