Abu Umaamah said he heard Allaah's Messenger (peace be upon him) say:
“Read the Qur'an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who read It! Read the two bright ones, “al-Baqarah” (2nd Chapter of the Qur’aan) and Soorah (Chapter of) “Al 'Emraan,” (3rd Chapter of the Qur’aan), for on the Day of Resurrection they (al-Baqarah and Al 'Emraan) will come as “two clouds” or “two shades,” or “two flocks of birds” in ranks, pleading for the ones who read them. Read Surah “al-Baqarah” (2nd Chapter of the Qur’aan), for to take an alternative to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it [with their spells].”
