Knowledge

Al-Baqara [2:29]
It is He Who hath created for you all things that are on earth; then He turned to heaven and made them into seven firmaments; and of all things He hath perfect knowledge.
I WANT AN IPHONE4 ! :)
Officially sick of blackberries...
And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful.

What is the ruling on signing up for and participating in Facebook?

What is the ruling on Facebook?.

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

The website Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, a student at Harvard University in America, at the beginning of 2004 CE. Use of the website was initially limited to students of the University, then the network expanded to include other universities in Boston, and eventually to include the entire world at the end of 2006 CE.

The aim behind the founding of this site was to enable people to get to know one another and build social relationships. This site is regarded as the most important virtual community on the Internet. The number of users runs to tens of millions and is constantly increasing. It is widely accepted in the Arab and Muslim world and is available in more than forty languages; the people in charge of the site are planning to add further languages.

Secondly:

The world of Facebook is a world in which one may communicate in writing or verbally (chat), in which there are both major sins and benefits for people, but this site is distinct from others in many ways, including the following:

1.Availability of detailed personal information about users, which has already resulted in negative consequences such as:

(a)   It has led to reviving old relationships between lovers which led to a resumption of those (illicit) relationships, leading to betrayal and divorce.

A team from the National Centre for Social and Criminal Research in Egypt prepared a study on Facebook which took several weeks, from which it noted serious consequences (of using this site). Among other things it noted: “many visitors to the website succeeded in finding their first love and former relationships, and rebuilt destructive relationships outside the family, which is threatening marriages and Muslim family life.”

(b)  Some foreign spy services have recruited some Facebook members by looking at their details, their economic situation and standard of living, and they have exploited that to recruit them to spy for them.

A foreign newspaper discovered a Jewish spy network that was working to recruit Arab and Muslim youth to spy for them.

On the Muheet website – dated 25 Jumaada al-Oola 1431 AH – they quoted from a French newspaper the story of Jewish exploitation of Facebook to recruit agents:

Gerald Nero, a professor in the college of psychology in the French University of Provence and the author of the book Dangers of the Internet, says: “This network was discovered in May 2001 CE; it was a group of networks run by Israeli specialists in psychology who were recruited to work on youth in the Third World, especially those living in Arab states that are hostile towards Israel, as well as South America.”
In fact, this recruitment began before the founding of the Facebook site, which offered more opportunities for this network – and others like it – to find youth who were suitable for recruitment by looking at their details and by chatting with them.

(c)   Hacking into bank accounts and stealing the identity of a Facebook member by looking at his personal information.

2. The spread of this website has made it a global chat site which brings together people from all parts of the world; they made matters worse by giving the users of their site a program that makes it easy for these conversations to take place without entering the site, such as that which was produced by Hotmail and Messenger. Chatting results in negative consequences that are known to everyone who has any experience of that on the Internet, especially if the program takes it possible for people to see one another as well as writing.
Among the negative consequences of chat and sinful relationships are the following:

(a)   Wasting valuable time in trivial talk and getting to know people.

The wise Muslim should realise that his lifespan is limited and that he will not live on earth for ever; he is going to meet his Lord, may He be exalted, Who will ask him about his youth and how he spent it, and about his life and what he did. So let the wise one look at the early generations of this ummah and its scholars, and think about how they thought about time and their lifespan.

Ibn ‘Aqeel al-Hanbali (may Allah have mercy on him) said of himself: It is not permissible for me to waste an hour of my life. When I stop discussing issues of knowledge and debating them (with others) and when I stop reading in a book, I would start pondering and thinking when I am resting and lying down, and before I get up, I will have already an idea that I should write down and I am very keen to increase my knowledge now I am in my eighties and more keen than when I was twenty years old.
Quoted from him by Ibn al-Jawzi in al-Muntazam, 9/214

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A man’s time is in fact his life, and his eternal life, whether it is eternal bliss or eternal suffering, is based on how he spent it. Time is passing quickly; whatever time he spends for the sake of Allah and by the help of Allah, this is his true life; any other time is not counted as part of his life, even if he spends it doing what animals do. So if he spends his time in heedlessness, idle entertainment and false wishes, and the best of what he spends his time in is sleep and idleness, then his death is better than his life.

Al-Jawaab al-Kaafi, p. 109
(b)  Establishing sinful relationships between men and women, which may cause the destruction of a stable family.

In a study by the National Centre – mentioned above – it says:

One in every five cases of divorce came about when one partner discovered that the other was having a relationship through the Internet, and through Facebook.

We have discussed the ruling on correspondence and chat between the sexes in a number of fatwas. Please see the answer to questions no. 78375, 34841, 23349, 20949, 26890 and 82702

Thirdly:

It cannot be denied that there are a number of benefits in this site, which are attained by wise people who are keen to guide people to goodness. These people have done well by using modern means of communication – such as the Internet, mobile phones and satellite channels; they have entered the world of those people to serve their religion and call people to their Lord, especially activities that are done collectively, because that makes it less likely that the one who does this type of work collectively will fall into the temptations of that world. Among the benefits of that website are the following:

1.     Personal pages for some shaykhs and daa‘iyahs, in which they offer advice to the people and answer their questions, especially those who have groups. The leader or founder of the group benefits when a number of people who are part of that group get together and send out messages to the group, open up topics for discussion, and post a large number of high-quality video clips.
2.     Global campaigns to alert users of that site to global Islamic events that are suppressed and ignored by the kaafir media, or to support oppressed peoples, or to close a website or personal page.
3.     Spreading useful and beneficial books, articles and websites among visitors to that site.
4.     Communication between friends and relatives, especially those who live far apart from one another. Communication has a good impact in maintaining bonds and encouraging one another to remain steadfast in Islam.
Fourthly:

With regard to the shar‘i ruling on signing up for Facebook, it depends on the intention of the one who wants to sign up. If he is a man of knowledge or a seeker thereof or a member of a da‘wah group, then it is permissible and good, because of the benefits they have to offer to the people. But for the one who joins it for evil purposes or for whom there is no guarantee that he will be safe from temptation and may easily slip, especially young men and women, it is not permissible for them to sign up for it.

The one who knows the reality of our times and the temptation and turmoil that is knocking at the door of all of our houses will not object to any faqeeh or mufti who disallows anything in which there is harm, whether it is totally or mostly harmful. The fact that there is some small benefit does not encourage one to say that it is permissible because there is still fear for the one who embarks upon it. If what is good and beneficial is great and the evil and harm is small or non-existent, then we may with a clear conscience say that it is permissible. Hence some of our scholars were very strict about satellite channels at first, because of the pure harm and evil in them; but when there started to be some great good in them and completely Islamic channels were founded, and receivers that only accepted those channels became available, the view that they are permissible became valid; indeed we see that many scholars have contributed to these channels and have useful programs on them.

The one who cannot control himself on Facebook and similar sites should refrain from joining them. Joining them is permissible for the one who acts in accordance with the shar‘i guidelines by controlling himself and not following his whims and desires, and who joins them  so that he can benefit himself and others others.
We ask Allah to keep us safe from temptations both visible and invisible, for He is the Guide to the straight path.

And Allah knows best.

You Are Responsible For Your Own Happiness !
Narrated by Anas ibn Malik: The Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him) has said: ' Paradise is surrounded by hardships and the Hell-Fire is surrounded by temptations.

[Sahih Muslim Hadith 6778]
This looks so yummy ! lol
If you’re not ready to die for it, put the word ‘freedom’ out of your vocabulary.

Refuse to be part of a Lost Generation

I am part of a lost generation
and I refuse to believe that
I can change the world
I realize this may be a shock but
“Happiness comes from within.”
is a lie, and
“Money will make me happy.”
So in 30 years I will tell my children
they are not the most important thing in my life
My employer will know that
I have my priorities straight because
work
is more important than
family
I tell you this
Once upon a time
Families stayed together
but this will not be true in my era
This is a quick fix society
Experts tell me
30 years from now, I will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of my divorce
I do not concede that
I will live in a country of my own making
In the future
Environmental destruction will be the norm
No longer can it be said that
My peers and I care about this earth
It will be evident that
My generation is apathetic and lethargic
It is foolish to presume that
There is hope.
And all of this will come true unless we choose to reverse it .

Read it now from bottom to top.

We have utterly wronged Allah and ourselves..

Ibraheem Ibn Adham was approached by a group of people. They asked him about the Saying of Allaah the Most High:

“Call upon your Lord and He will answer you.”
[Ghaafir:60]
They said:
“We supplicate to Allaah but He does not respond to (our invocations).” [1]
Ibraheem Ibn Adham replied:
You know Allaah but yet you do not obey Him.
You recite the Quraan but you do not act upon it.
You know about the shaytaan (devil) but you agree with him.
You claim that you love the Messenger of Allaah but you abandon his sunnah.
You claim that you love (to enter) paradise but you do not act for it.
You claim that you fear the hell fire but you fail to abstain from disobedience.
You say that death is truly (approaching) but you do not prepare for it.
You are preoccupied with other people’s faults but you do not analyse your own.
You eat the sustenance that Allaah provides (you with) but you show no thanks.
You bury your dead but you do not contemplate over that.
[2]
[1] Abu Huraira narrated that:
The Messenger of Allaah (may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The invocation of anyone of you is granted (by Allah) if he does not show impatience, saying, ‘I invoked Allah but my request has not been granted.’”
Bukhari and Muslim.
[2] Al-Khushoo’ fee As-Salaat, with Commentary and checking by Shaykh ‘Ali Ibn Hasan,  by Al-Haafidh Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali (d790) page 39. This narration has mysteriously been omitted from the English translation of this wonderful book.

A piece of advice for every serious Taalibul 'Ilm

In the Name of Allaah...

Scenario:
A student actively attends an important lesson regularly, takes notes, and tries not to miss anything.  He gets there early to get a good seat to make sure he can hear clearly.  If someone asks him something in the lesson, he merely gestures for him to ask later.  His phone is always on silent, he pays no attention to it during the lesson.  Whatever people want from him, he will attend to it after the lesson.  He is focused on the lesson entirely.  He asks follow-up questions.

Another Scenario:
A student attends the same important lesson regularly, but he does not take notes.  He does not get there early, and so he sits in the back.  If someone asks him something in the lesson, he responds and helps.  He points out the direction of the bathroom... he may even explain who the shaykh is to a new student.  His phone is active, he occasionally answers calls or reads and responds to text messages.  Since he misses much of the content of the lesson, he does not ask follow-up questions.

If years go by and the student continues upon the path mentioned in the first scenario, then we have the makings of a serious student, maybe even a scholar eventually, and Allaah is the One who grants success.

If years go by and the student continues upon the path mentioned in the second scenario, then we have another brother who "studied".

Would you believe that the two scenarios are describing the same student?

Its a common before-and-after case for a student who bought or was given an audio recording device.

It is common that when the recorder is used, the student relaxes, he doesn't take notes, its "all there in the recording", I'll review it later, I'll take notes when I listen to it, I'll even transcribe it later...  And the Shaytaan has slipped in, in the most deceptive of ways, and taken him far away from what will benefit him, by getting him to rely on that recorder.  In the end, he's got loads of recordings that are way too many for him to begin to review, and under the pressure of a university system, he has no time to go back and study them, until perhaps his studies are over.  Then, he listens to them, but now he's like everyone else in the West, listening to audio recordings, he's not a student of knowledge in a study circle with the scholars.  He had the chance to be one, but he let it slip away.

While the technology we have been blessed with can serve our religious goals in many ways, this is a very subtle point that needs to be highlighted regarding the use of audio recordings at Islaamic lessons.  This applies more directly to students of knowledge in the Muslim lands studying under the scholars.

Advice: Don't use a recording device.  Sit at the feet of your shaykh, and watch his lips!  Try not to miss a word.  Don't miss a class.  Phone is on silent or off.  Pen in hand.  Book or text on your lap.  Material previewed before the lesson.  Your notes reviewed with a good student after the lesson.  There is no safety net!  You must get that knowledge at that sitting, or you will miss it!  This approach is many times more effective than attending to record the lecture.

If you feel you have that safety net, you will very likely let your guard down and become lazy at the lesson, to one degree or another, so beware of the subtle tricks of your sworn enemy!

Who would have thought that Shaytaan could use a voice recorder at a scholar's lesson against you?!

And Allaah knows best.

Two Clouds

Abu Umaamah said he heard Allaah's Messenger (peace be upon him) say:

“Read the Qur'an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who read It! Read the two bright ones, “al-Baqarah” (2nd Chapter of the Qur’aan) and Soorah (Chapter of) “Al 'Emraan,” (3rd Chapter of the Qur’aan), for on the Day of Resurrection they (al-Baqarah and Al 'Emraan) will come as “two clouds” or “two shades,” or “two flocks of birds” in ranks, pleading for the ones who read them. Read Surah “al-Baqarah” (2nd Chapter of the Qur’aan), for to take an alternative to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it [with their spells].”

[Muslim, Book #004, Hadith #1757]

Asking of People

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallaam) said:
“Whoever asks of the people whilst possessing what suffices him, what he asked for will appear on the Day of Judgement as scratches on his face.”

Related by Abu Dawud (1626), an Nisaa’ee (5/97) , at-Tirmidhee (650), ad-Daarimee (1/386), ibn Majah (1840) , Ahmad (1/388 & 441) and al Haakim (1/408) from ibn Masoud. The chain of the narration is saheeh.

Is it true that the one who commits fornication with a virgin will never smell the fragrance of Paradise?

I am a young man and I got to know a girl, and the matter went so far that we committed an immoral action; the girl was a virgin before I had intercourse with her.
My question is:
Is it true that the young man who takes the virginity of any girl will not smell the fragrance of Paradise? Because this is what I have heard from all my friends. Is there any evidence in the Book of Allah or the Sunnah of His Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) for the soundness of these words?
I hope that you will answer the question.

Praise be to Allaah.

Undoubtedly what you did of committing fornication is a grave and major sin; rather it is one of the worst of sins after shirk and murder.

It is sufficient in affirming the gravity of fornication to note that Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, threatens the fornicators with a doubled punishment and eternity in the Fire of Hell, humiliated and disgraced, because of the gravity of their crime and the abhorrence of their actions, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And those who invoke not any other ilaah (god) along with Allaah, nor kill such person as Allaah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse __ and whoever does this shall receive the punishment.

69. The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace;
70. Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds”
[al-Furqaan 25:68-70].

So zina (fornication, adultery) is mentioned alongside shirk and murder, and the recompense for that is eternity in Hell with a doubled torment and disgrace, if the individual who deserves that has not escaped it by means of repenting, believing and doing righteous deeds. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning)

“And come not near to unlawful sex. Verily, it is a Faahishah (i.e. anything that transgresses its limits: a great sin), and an evil way”
[al-Isra’ 17:22].

So Allah tells us that it is evil in and of itself, and it is an action that is so abhorrent that it is acknowledged as such by all people of reason.  End quote from al-Jawaab al-Kaafi, p. 105

Zina (fornication/adultery) leads to eternity in Hell; what is meant by eternity here is a lengthy stay, the length of which no one knows except Allah.

Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Eternity” is of two types:

Eternity for which there is no end; this is the eternity of the kuffaar, in which they will never come out of Hell, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Thus Allaah will show them their deeds as regrets for them. And they will never get out of the Fire”
[al-Baqarah 2:167].

The second type is temporary and will have an end. This is the eternity of some sinners, such as the one who kills himself, the one who commits zina, the one who deals with riba, and so on.
End quote from Majmoo‘ Fataawa Ibn Baaz 30/303

What you have to do is hasten to repent to Allah and to give up what you are doing, and you have to do a lot of righteous deeds, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds; for those, Allaah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allaah is Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful.
71. And whosoever repents and does righteous good deeds; then verily, he repents towards Allaah with true repentance”
[al-Furqaan 25:70-71].

There is nothing in the shar‘i texts to indicate that the one who commits fornication with a virgin girl will not smell the fragrance of Paradise, especially if he repents and mends his ways.
And Allah knows best.

As I'm viewing alot of different blogs; islamic ones or just by muslim inidividuals --I noticed that alot wished they knew how to speak arabic & always talk about learning it. Ma'sha'Allah kudos to them forreall & honestly more and more I feel so blessed to know arabic being my first language since birth (I'm fluent yet don't have the perfect arabic accent since I've been in Canada since I was 3 lol ) It's just a blessing, cause truth be told it is NOT an easy language & a persons environment has to do with it cause if your parents don't know it or if you don't have Arab friends who are willing to teach you..it is hard. Not to discourage anyone. I just love when I can see a blessing that Allah has given me over others and truly appreciate it --currently I'm trying to learn Fus-Ha arabic (Quranic Arabic--early Arab speech) & that's not a piece of cake, even tho I have the prerequisite. Alhamdulilah Rabbil Alimeen<3 Always appreciate the blessings Allah has bestowed upon you and don't just see through them but actually acknowledge them. Honestly knowing the language is so beneficial in understanding Islam & the Quran even tho it's not in Khaleeji (Modern Arabic-- what I speak =D) words still sound the same & some have the exact meaning. May Allah make it easy for all of us trying to learn Fus-Ha + the Modern Arabic, Ameen<3

The school year is going to be coming to an end in the next 2 months in'sha'Allah, & now I have to decide what program I want to go into since I'm in 'Undecided' right now lol --> don't laugh at me it's just that I don't want to make a mistake in taking something I may not like & paying for school would cost me alot if I were to change my field of interest. Strange thing is a sister who is a bit older then me advised me that there was research done on how many University students actually enter the field they studied. . the results are shocking =O Only 40% actually go into their field & 60% end up doing something completely different. I figure it's all about if you really enjoy it & if you have networking skills or a hook up to a job. Networking takes you places, take my word for it. Funny yet true quote --> IT'S NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU KNOW, IT'S ABOUT WHO YOU KNOW. So I really like/love science & do really well in it, I'm thinking that's my best bet to choose cause everything isn't really interesting to me, like English/Humanity courses are nice ma'sha'Allah I find them interesting but I'm not sure if I'd want to pursue them. LOL I'm pretty confused cause my program exposes us to every general field, so it's pretty nice alhamdulilah. I'll pray istahkara about going into the sciences & hopefully find the right type of science for myself in'sha'Allah.
May Allah make it easy for all of us, Allahumma Ameen<3

Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."

(Al-i-Imran 3:31)

He did the marriage contract with a girl but did not tell his parents, and he wants to do the marriage contract again in their presence

I performed nikah with a girl without disclosing it to my parents 8 months back but now my parents are convinced and i would like to perform nikah again with the same girl in the presence of my parents without letting them know about my previous nikah so could you kindly explain us can we marry again according to islamic law and shariah.

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:
If the first marriage contract fulfilled the conditions and necessary parts, namely the consent of both parties, the presence of the woman’s guardian and the testimony of two Muslim witnesses of good character, then this is a valid marriage contract with all that results from it. But if any of these conditions were not met, then it is an invalid marriage contract and must be repeated.

Secondly:
It is no secret that the parents have great rights and should be honoured and treated kindly. Hence it is essential to consult them with regard to the matter of marriage and to strive to please them as much as possible.

If no obvious negative consequences will result from telling them about the previous marriage contract, then it is better to tell them about that and strive to please them. It is more important to tell them if the wife is pregnant, so as to ward off accusations and suspicion.

But if telling them will lead to obvious negative consequences, such as the fear that they would sever ties with you and the like, then you can pretend to do the marriage contract in their presence or have it registered officially if it was not registered.

What is meant by pretending to do the marriage contract is that the guardian of the woman should say: I give my daughter or sister So and so to you in marriage, and you should say: I accept to marry So and so -- in the presence of two witnesses of good character, but you should inform the guardian that this new marriage contract does not really mean anything and that what counts is the first one.

And Allah knows best.

I'm somewhat of an emotional person when I let myself to be, most of the time I really hold myself back [ depends on the situation]. When holding myself back I do a lot of THINKING..like A LOT subhanAllah I don't know why but I start asking myself things like 'if I had done this maybe this wouldn't happen' or 'did I upset that person; since they haven't talk to me in a while (-_-)' I don't know why I think like that but then I make up scenarios in my head -->sometimes I'm right =S , it's just my instincts that help me figure it out. Well I'm having one of those moments now, & sometimes I wish it were easier to be able to read someones mind lol subhanAllah my life would be so much more easier & also the fact is I'd love it if people were more straight up to save me the hassle of asking 'what's wrong' cause 9 times out of 10 they will end up letting it out. Allahu Mustaan, Ameen. It just bothers me cause I always try to be on everyones good side and I hate it when I have no clue I've done something wrong yet the person is silent about it. Is this how Muslims should move towards eachother? -I really don't think so..wallahu alam tho.
We live on this earth as if we'll never die,

PEOPLE ARE CONFUSING.

Wise Words.

Be Cautious Of…

“Be cautious of humiliating an honourable person
Or embarrassing an intelligent one.
Be cautious of ennobling a despicable person
Or joking with a foolish one

Or indeed living with an immoral being…

I have truly tasted all pleasures in life
But I did not find anything sweeter than wellbeing.
And I have tasted all burdens in life
But I did not find anything bitter than being in need of people
And I have carried both iron and stone
But I did not find anything more burdensome than debt

You should know that life is but two days;
A day in your favour and a day against you

So if it is in your favour, do not become proud
And if it is against you, then practise patience.”

Al-Albani: The great reviver of our era

Sh. Al-Albani Rahimahullaah

EVERY hundred years Allah sends someone in this Ummah to revive His religion. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Indeed Allah raises up from this ummah at the beginning of every century someone who will revive it for them (i.e. a mujaddid ).

Among several exemplary scholars Islamic history has seen, there have always been some scholars who have strode extra miles to revive Islam. Scholars like Ibn Taimiyyah and Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahab are two such examples.

In more recent times scholars like Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Baz, Muhammad Bin Al-Uthaymeen and Sheikh Badi-ud-deen Shah As-Sindi have all exerted great efforts for the cause of Islam, and indeed Allah aided them and brought glory and success to Islam through them.

However, there is one name that really stands out. His contribution to Islam, especially in the science of Hadith, is second to none in our times. Born and raised in Shkodra, the then capital of Albania, Muhammad Nasriddeen Al-Albani, started his life without knowing that one day he would become one of the leading scholars 20th century has seen. His family was poor. His father, Nuh Najati Al-Albani, was a leading scholar in Hanafi Fiqh. Since his countrys government was slowly becoming more and more western, he left with his family and went to Damascus, where Nasiruddeen Al-Albani began his studies. It wasnt long before he finished learning the Quran, the Arabic language and Fiqh. Sheikh Albani also learnt repairing watches and clocks from his father. It wasnt long before he mastered the trade.

He began specializing in the field of Hadith and its related sciences by the tender age of 20 and his first assignment was to start transcribing Hafiz Al-Iraqis great piece Al-Mughnee an-Hamlil-Asfar fil-Asfar fee Takhrej maa fil-lhyaa min Al-Akhbar. It was here where his fascination into the science of Hadith intensified and even though his father discouraged him, Al-Albani's love for Hadith just kept growing.

The Sheikh would spend much of his time, sometimes more than 12 hours a day, in Damascusýs Az-Zahiriyah library. He would be so engrossed in research that he would have no time for food. As weeks and months flew by, the Sheikh was given his own room and a set of keys to the library to pursue his study.

Once the Sheikh was up on the ladder to get some books from the top shelf. While looking out, he began to read a book for some information and he ended up standing on the ladder for hours till he finished that book. However, his reading and research did not neglect him from his religious obligations like offering prayer five times a day.

After being regularly invited to give lectures in prestigious Islamic universities and having several of his works published, the Sheikh was invited to teach Hadith at the Islamic University of Madina. The Sheikh called people to worship Allah alone and spared no efforts to revive the Prophets Sunnah.

The Sheikh did face several hardships and lived in several countries like Syria, the UAE, Lebanon and Jordan.

Great scholars of our time have praised him extensively. The late Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Ibraheem Aal Sheikh said, And he is the upholder of the Sunnah, a supporter of the truth and in opposition to the people of falsehood.

The late former Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Baz said, I have not seen anyone under the surface of the sky with more knowledge of Hadith in our current times than the likes of the great scholar, Muhammad Nasir-ud-Deen Al-Albani.

Sheikh Bin Baz, in fact, was of the opinion that Al-Albani was the Mujaddid of our era. All great scholars including Sheikh Uthaymeen have praised him extensively.

After a life full of seeking knowledge and propagating Islam, the reviver of Sunnah, Sheikh Al-Albani died in 1420 AH/1999 CE when he was 87.  He left his will advising his relatives not to wail over his death and hurry his burial. He donated his entire library that included valuable manuscripts to the library of the Islamic University of Madina because of his fond memories of the years he spent teaching there. SG

الإمام أبي محمد الأندلسي القحطاني

Nooniya al-Qahtaani

By Imaam Abu Muhammad al-Andalusi al-Qahtaani

يا منزل الآيات والفرقان *** بيني وبينك حرمة القرآن
إشرح به صدري لمعرفة الهدى *** واعصم به قلبي من الشيطان

“O Revealer of the Verses and the Criterion,
Between You and I is the sanctity of the Qur’aan
With it open up my heart to acknowledge the guidance,
And with it protect my heart from the Shaytan

يسر به أمري وأقض مآربي *** وأجر به جسدي من النيران
واحطط به وزري وأخلص نيتي *** واشدد به أزري وأصلح شاني

With it ease my affairs and settle my needs
And with it save my body from the Fire
With it lighten my load and purify my intention
And with it increase my strength and rectify my state

واكشف به ضري وحقق توبتي *** واربح به بيعي بلا خسراني
طهر به قلبي وصف سريرتي *** أجمل به ذكري واعل مكاني

With it remove my harm and confirm my repentance
And with it make me profit from my pledge without any loss
With it cleanse my heart and purify my character,
And with it beautify my reputation and raise my rank

واقطع به طمعي وشرف همتي *** كثر به ورعي واحي جناني
أسهر به ليلي وأظم جوارحي *** أسبل بفيض دموعها أجفاني

With it cut of my greed, and honour my ambitions
And with it increase my piety and give life to my heart
With it pass my night and make thirsty my limbs,
And soak my eyelashes with the abundance of tears

أمزجه يا رب بلحمي مع دمي *** واغسل به قلبي من الأضغاني
أنت الذي صورتني وخلقتني *** وهديتني لشرائع الإيمان

Mix it with my flesh O my Lord along with my blood,
And with it wash my heart from malice
You are the One who fashioned me and created me
And guided me to the fountains of Imaan

أنت الذي علمتني ورحمتني *** وجعلت صدري واعي القرآن
أنت الذي أطعمتني وسقيتني *** من غير كسب يد ولا دكان

You are the One who taught me and had mercy on me
And made my heart heedful to the Qur’aan
You are the One who fed me and made me to drink
Without my earning it by hand or via trade

وجبرتني وسترتني ونصرتني *** وغمرتني بالفضل والإحسان
أنت الذي آويتني وحبوتني *** وهديتني من حيرة الخذلان

And You restored me, covered me and aided me
And enveloped me in Grace and Goodness
You are the One who gave me refuge and awarded me
And guided me from the confusion of disappointment and loss

وزرعت لي بين القلوب مودة *** والعطف منك برحمة وحنان
ونشرت لي في العالمين محاسنا *** وسترت عن أبصارهم عصياني

And You have planted love for me between hearts,
And the inclination from You is by way of mercy and affection
And You have spread goodness out for me amongst the people
And You have hid my sin from their eyes

وجعلت ذكري في البرية شائعا *** حتى جعلت جميعهم إخواني
والله لو علموا قبيح سريرتي *** لأبى السلام علي من يلقاني

And You have made my reputation amongst the people widespread
Until You made them all my brothers
By Allaah, had they known the ugliness of my inner self,
Whoever met me would have refused to greet me

ولأعرضوا عني وملوا صحبتي *** ولبؤت بعد كرامة بهوان
لكن سترت معايبي ومثالبي *** وحلمت عن سقطي وعن طغياني

And they would have shunned me and be disgusted with my friendship
And I would have drawn on myself disgrace after honour
But You covered my faults and defects,
And You bore my sin and my tyranny

فلك المحامد والمدائح كلها *** بخواطري وجوارحي ولساني

So all Praise is to You, and all commendations
With my thoughts, my limbs and my tongue

To be continued inshaa’Allaah

Oh how I miss my blackberry =(. . .
Narrated Umar (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Good and bad persons enter upon you, so I suggest that you order the mothers of the Believers (i.e. your wives) to observe veils." Then Allah revealed the Verses of Al-Hijab.

Bukhari Vol. 6 : No. 313

Is vomit impure (najis)?

If a person vomits, is it impure and does it nullify his wudoo’?.

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

The majority of scholars are of the view that vomit is impure (najis).

It says in al-Mawsoo’ah al-Fiqhiyyah (34/87):

There are different views as to whether vomit is pure or impure. The Hanafis and Hanbalis say that it is impure (najaasah), and both of them based their arguments on different evidence. This is the view of the Maalikis with regard to food that has been changed (by the digestive process), even though it has no characteristics of stools. They quoted as evidence the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “O ‘Ammaar, garments should be washed in five cases: stools, urine, vomit, blood and semen.” End quote.
They also quoted as evidence for its being impure the fact that it may be likened to stools, because it is foul-smelling and off-putting.

Some of the scholars, such as Ibn Hazm and al-Shawkaani, are of the view that it is pure (taahir), because the basic principle concerning things is that they are pure, and there is no saheeh evidence that it is impure.
They responded to the hadeeth of ‘Ammaar by noting that it is da’eef (weak).Al-Nawawi said in al-Majmoo’ (2/549): This hadeeth of ‘Ammaar was narrated by Abu Ya’la al-Mawsili in his Musnad and by al-Daaraqutni and al-Bayhaqi. Al-Bayhaqi said: it is a false hadeeth with no basis. Al-Daraaqutni and al-Bayhaqi stated that it is da’eef (weak). End quote.

It was also classed as da’eef by al-Haafiz ibn Hajar in al-Talkhees al-Habeer, 1/33.

Shaykh al-Albaani said in Tamaam al-Minnah (p. 53), commenting on the view of the author of Fiqh al-Sunnah that vomit is impure:

I say: The author does not mention the evidence for that, apart from saying, “There is consensus that it is impure.” This is a flawed claim, because Ibn Hazm did not have that view when he stated clearly that the vomit of the Muslim is pure. This is the view of Imam al-Shawkaani in al-Darar al-Bahiyyah, and of Siddeeq Khaan in his commentary on it; they do not mention human vomit as being among the things that are impure in general, and this is correct. Then they state that there is some scholarly dispute as to whether it is impure, and they stated that it is more likely to be pure, as they said: The basic principle is that things are pure, and they cannot be deemed otherwise unless there is sound evidence to that effect. Something similar was also stated by al-Shawkaani in al-Sayl al-Jaraar. End quote.

Shaykh Sulaymaan al-‘Alwaan was asked about whether vomit is impure and he said: The correct view is that it is pure (taahir) in all cases (i.e., whether the food is changed or not). The fact that it is off-putting or smells bad does not mean that it is impure.

The basic principle with regard to this matter is that all things are pure unless there is proven evidence that they are impure. There is no evidence to prove that vomit is impure, so it is pure. End quote.
See: al-Majmoo’, 2/570; al-Mughni, 1/485

Secondly:

With regard to whether wudoo’ is invalidated by vomiting, the correct scholarly view is that vomiting does not invalidate wudoo’. See the answer to question no. 2570.
Islam Q&A

Curly fries, yumm !

He established...

Ar-Rad [13:2]
Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; then He established Himself on the Throne (of authority); He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His law)! Each one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate all affairs explaining the Signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.
Forreal...
On the authority of Ibn 'Umar, radiyallahu 'anhuma, who said: The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, took me by the shoulder and said:
"Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler/wayfarer."
Ibn 'Umar used to say:
"When evening comes, do not expect (to live till) morning, and when morning comes, do not expect (to live till) evening. Take from your health (a preparation) for your illness, and from your life for your death."

Personal 74

Have you ever wondered about those people you used to know back in highschool? & just how they turned out and what there doing? - Not to be random, but these are the things I think about once I see a familiar face when I go about my day. SubhanAllah really amazes me how you could be so close to someone one day & the next day act as if you don't even know them -[vice versa] Friendships don't really last as long as they initially say they do, but it's amazing to me. In this life I see myself really like a lonely traveler & now I'm at the vulnerable age of 19 where experiencing things + figuring out my future are my goals. Being that "lonely traveler" gives me the concept of understanding things aren't always meant to be, and teaches me that sometimes change is good for a person. A "lonely traveler"; I see my destination to be heaven in my heart and mind, in the life I live in I find it to be a blessing because realizing this at my age would just shape me to be a more wiser intelligent person as I live on, Allah is the only, the One -& I'm not saying this next statement because I'm religious or practicing but because it's very true and honest, Allah has never left me nor has Allah betray me. We live in a world that is surrounded with dishonesty & people having trust problems..when in fact why do we put up with it? they might not even stick around to see our success. Now I'm not saying drifting of from a friend is a good thing but if it changes you & sets your goals straight, it sure well isn't a BAD thing. Allah knows us better then we know ourselves! Ever ponder that? - yet we claim to know our best friend better then anyone else..what about he who created her/him? SubhanAllah living my life as a "lonely traveler" is well off for me, friends are welcomed to accompany me but no tears would be shed if they make a turn, on my travel. Allah is the all-Knower, all-Wise so theres a reason for it, alhamdulilah. I just hope everyone I've ever encountered in my life was pleased with me & the friendship I provided to them and maybe shed some light on any problems they had. I may not be the BEST friend of a person, but I love making a long lasting impression =)
May Allah grant all of those we used to know a great life in this dunya, & that Allah reunites us with them in the hereafter just as he did in this life. Allahumma Ameeen <333
p.s Love you all for the sake of Allah!
WHEN MAN WAKES UP IN THE MORNING EACH DAY, ALL PARTS OF THE BODY WARN THE TONGUE SAYING "FEAR GOD AS REGARDS FOR WE ARE AT YOUR MERCY; IF YOU ARE UPRIGHT, WE WILL BE UPRIGHT AND IF YOU ARE CROOKED, WE BECOME CROOKED.

Road

Al-Araf [7:86]
"And squat not on every road, breathing, threats, hindering from the path of Allah those who believe in Him and seek to make it something crooked; but remember how ye were little, and He gave you increase. And hold in your mind's eye what was the end of those who did mischief.
